  • Pax Christi International (PCI) is a Catholic organization with headquarters in Brussels and "autonomous" branches in over 30 countries.
  • Its International President is the Nazareth-born, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Michael Sabbah, who advocates for the Palestinian "right of return" and is a vocal critic of the Israeli security barrier
  • Established in 1945, PCI's stated aim is to "promote reconciliation" and "active Christian nonviolence;" and "to promote, develop and defend" human rights.
  • PCI promotes the "Durban Strategy" by accusing Israel of "collective punishment" and "indiscriminate" attacks on Palestinians; dismisses Palestinian agency by claiming that the "occupation is the fertile soil for terrorism"; and places sole responsibility for making peace in Israel's hands.  In a 2003 statement, PCI characterized acts of terrorism as acts of "resistance".
  • PCI's website is not transparent regarding its funding, only stating that "funding comes from contributions from the national sections and other sources like grants, sales of publications and newsletter subscriptions."
