Sabeel, a radical Christian NGO and leader of the anti-Israel divestment movement, hosted a conference in Nazareth and Jerusalem, on November 12-19, 2008, entitled “A time to remember, a time for truth:  The Nakba, memory, reality, and beyond.” The conference claimed to examine “the Naqba” and “the impact of 1948 on the quest for justice and peace in the Holy Land.”

In addition to Rev. Naim Ateek, the head of Sabeel who uses antisemitic theological themes in his sermons, speakers included Jeff Halper of ICAHD (funded  by the EU), Sarah Kreimer of ACRI, representatives from Machsom Watch and Gush Shalom, and Rabbi Arik Ascherman of Rabbis for Human Rights. Another member of ACRI presented on “From Discrimination to Racism: The Rights of Palestinian Citizens of Israel.”
