Breaking the Silence makes sweeping accusations based on anecdotal, anonymous, and unverifiable accounts of often low-ranked soldiers. These “testimonies” lack context, are politically biased, and erase the complicated reality in the West Bank. In addition, they reflect a distorted interpretation of the conflict in order to advance the political agenda of Breaking the Silence activists, thereby fueling the international campaigns against Israel.
While Israeli NGO Breaking the Silence claims to primarily address Israeli audiences, its lobbying and advocacy efforts are geared toward international audiences and contribute to the delegitimization of Israel.
The annual "study tour" hosted by the French newspaper Le Monde diplomatique introduced participated to highly biased individuals and provided a distorted politicized message, in blatant violation to the professional journalistic norms.
Many of the details that have been published recently about Israeli NGO Breaking the Silence, its funding, and activities are incomplete and inaccurate.
