NGO Monitor sent a letter to the EU over the scheduled participation of the Head of the EU Delegation to the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Sven Kühn von Burgsdoff, in an event co-organized by Al-Haq.
On May 11, 2022, Al-Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Akleh was killed during clashes between Israeli troops and Palestinian gunmen in the West Bank. Predictably, the same chorus of NGOs that claim any Israeli use of force is a war crime, immediately accused Israel of killing the journalist, amplifying the PA’s position that the incident demanded an ICC investigation, while calling for more BDS measures.
Switzerland is also funding an Israeli NGO that is justified through the façade of “peacebuilding” and “human rights.” However, the contact between the government and Akevot, obtained by NGO Monitor, specifically focuses on “myth-breaking” and dismantling the founding narratives of Israel.
On April 29, Human Rights Watch announced the appointment of longtime anti-Israel campaigner Sari Bashi to the position of program director, where she will be responsible for HRW’s research and investigations.
On March 25, 2022, the Palestinian NGO Al-Haq, brought a PFLP-affiliated individual to appear before the UN Human Rights Council (HRC).
In his 29-year reign as head of HRW, Ken Roth has obsessively distorted and exploited human rights to demonize Israel. His language reflects a deeply personal hostility to Judaism and Jewish self-determination, and in applying double standards, Roth has caused major damage to the principles embodied in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
On March 9, 2022, France’s Minister of Interior Gérald Darmanin announced the dissolution of Collectif Palestine Vaincra (CPV), an anti-Zionist group linked to the EU-designated Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terror group.
Anti-Israel NGOs and activists appropriated the war in Ukraine to further their own agendas and to promote demonization, in the form of BDS and other attacks on Israel.
On December 7, 2021, the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP) held an event to discuss the October 2021 decision by the Israeli Ministry of Defense to designate six Palestinian NGOs as terrorist organizations.
In July 2021, the French group Collectif Palestine Vaincra (CPV) reported that it had raised €6,000 for a Palestinian PFLP-linked organization to "fund several vacation camps for tens of children from the Gaza strip."
