MCC’s activities and publications, as well as its funding of highly politicized NGOs active in the Arab-Israeli conflict, reveal a biased and anti-Israel agenda, including campaigning against the Israeli security barrier while ignoring Palestinian terror.
Alliance for Global Justice (AFGJ) is an American non-profit that acts as a “fiscal sponsor to over two dozen projects that do not have their own tax-exempt status.” AFGJ’s “parent organization, the Nicaragua Network, was founded to support an armed revolution.”
While Grassroots International states that it “stands with the nonviolent Palestinian struggle for self-determination and human rights, particularly the human rights to land, water and food sovereignty,” it provides funding to a number of NGOs active in the Arab-Israeli conflict with ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
Lobbies churches, policymakers and the general public and in the U.S. “to give voice to the issues that affect hunger people and promote sustainable solutions.”
Founded by a coalition of church groups, CPT supports BDS (boycotts, divestments, and sanctions) campaigns against Israel and makes false accusations of “apartheid,” “ethnic cleansing,” and “colonization.”
Since 2003, Tree of Life has organized trips to Israel and the West Bank. Participants of the tours meet with members of highly politicized NGOs. Upon completion of the program, the participants return to their home countries where many engage in anti-Israel advocacy, including advocating for BDS campaigns and asking to “stop sending billions of dollars worth of weapons to Israel.”
In 2017, the Oakland Institute launched a project titled “Palestine: For Land and Life,” which included a series of reports accusing Israel of apartheid, colonialism, and land grabs.
Nonviolence International is a “decentralized network of resource centers that promote the use of nonviolent action.”
U.S. government funds for NGOs are channeled through several frameworks, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), The Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), and United States Institute of Peace (USIP).
