Human Rights NGOs Distort Israeli Policy

Six NGOs issued a joint press release that went far beyond their human-rights mandates and reflected deep-seated political agendas. Their selective and superficial condemnation extends the long-standing pattern of international humanitarian organizations refusing to acknowledge the context of Palestinian terrorism and the Israeli government’s right to defend its own citizens.

Amnesty International (AI) Report of 2003

AI produced its 2003 report documenting human rights abuses in 151 countries as "a contribution to…a world where human rights take priority over political, military or economic interests." Several sections reveal a subordination of the concept of human rights to political interests.

Oxfam Belgium produces political poster

Oxfam Belgium produced the following poster, "Israeli fruits have a bitter taste…reject the occupation of Palestine, don’t buy Israeli fruits and vegetables." The message is blatantly political, and in clear contradiction of Oxfam’s mission statement. NGO Monitor consistently attempted to question Oxfam Belgium – via telephone and email. Oxfam Belgium refused to respond.

Humanitarian NGOs and terror links

Several humanitarian charities, including the Palestinian Children’s Welfare Fund (PCWF) and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) have links with Palestine4ever.net, a hate filled website, dedicated to the glorification of jihad and the denunciation of Israel.
