Factually Inaccurate and Legally Flawed: HRW’s 2017 Report

Human Rights Watch is a powerful NGO, with a massive budget, close links to Western governments, and significant influence in international institutions. Its publications reflect the absence of professional standards, research methodologies, and military and legal expertise, as well as a deep-seated ideological bias against Israel. HRW’s review of “Israel and Palestine: Events of 2017,” reflects these same methodological flaws, resulting in a highly skewed representation of Israeli domestic and international law.

Whitewashing “Resistance” – Human Rights Funding to Organizations Blurring the Lines between Violence and Nonviolence

A number of government-funded Palestinian and European NGOs repeatedly manipulate human rights through the use of “resistance” rhetoric, blurring the lines between violence and nonviolence, denigrating security concerns, and legitimizing attacks against civilians. Some of these groups also have ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) – a designated terrorist organization by the EU, U.S., Canada, and Israel.

Palestinian Prisoners Day: NGOs Promote Terrorist Propaganda

NGOs played a central role in disseminating the 2017 PLO Prisoner Day propaganda, including using social media to share Marwan Barghouti's New York Times op-ed. The Times fails to inform readers that Barghouti was the leader of the armed wing of Fatah and a founder of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, and was convicted in 2004 on five counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
