Partial list of Israeli NGOs that receive foreign government funding. Due to a lack of transparency in and discrepancies between reports by governments and NGOs, this table is incomplete and the numbers are approximate.
NGOs, including NIF-funded ACRI, B'Tselem, and others, are utilizing the proceedings at the United Nations as a platform for advancing arguments in favor of legal attacks ("lawfare") against Israel and for prejudging Israeli responses to violent demonstrations.
NIFs response sought to divert attention from its massive credibility gap. Anyone familiar with NIFs agenda and funding practices recognizes the anti-Zionist rhetoric and campaigns.
In addition to misrepresenting UN General Assembly Resolution 194, which does not mandate a wholesale "right of return" as alleged, the NGOs completely disregard the Jewish refugees from Arab countries who were driven from their homes following the establishment of the State of Israel.
On September 19, 2010, NIF published new funding guidelines on its website. For the first time, the organization declared that groups that violate core principles, including working "to deny the right of the Jewish people to sovereign self-determination within Israel." However, since the initial report, a number of NIF officials have made confusing and contradictory public statements, suggesting that the guidelines are not new, and that they will not be implemented to reverse the anti-Israel NGO activities resulting from NIFs funding policies. In addition, no timetable or implementation mechanism have been published.
