The NGOs that Exploited Christmas 2011

During the 2011 Christmas season, NGOs once again are exploiting the holiday to advance immoral anti-Israel campaigns and, in some cases, crude antisemitism. Through the cynical use of holiday and religious symbols, NGOs do not offer messages of peace and cheer, but rather exacerbate the violent conflict.

Trócaire: Misdirected Catholic Aid from Ireland Fuels Conflict

Trcaire is the official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland. Funders include Irish Aid (Government of Ireland). Its programs reflect a one-sided agenda, including the "campaign on the illegal Wall" and its reporting on Gaza. Partners include Badil, PCHR, Zochrot, and Medical Aid for Palestinians. During the Gaza operation, Trcaire called for "the suspension of EU-Israel Association Agreement." Officials accuse Israel of "systematic oppression and domination by one racial group over another to maintain a regime."

"Hijacked by Hatred": British NGOs Use Christmas for anti-Israel Attacks

Through the use of holiday and religious symbols, NGOs such as War on Want, Amos Trust, and Pax Christi are manipulating Christmas to advance a political agenda, and in some cases, may be promoting antisemitic canards. NGOs also organized an event entitled, "Bethlehem Now: Nine Alternative Lessons and Carols for Palestine"; the tendentious lyrics and themes of the event led to strong condemnations from Christian and Jewish community leaders. War on Wants "Alternative Gift" of donations to the Palestinian Grassroots Anti-Apartheid Wall Coalition supports the boycotts, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement.
