NGO Monitor sent a position paper to the UN Human Rights Council arguing that a discriminatory "blacklist" intended to defame and economically harm companies doing business with Israel violates international law, ignores due process rights, and promotes antisemitism.
The Institute for NGO Research, an NGO in Special Consultative with ECOSOC, submitted the following information to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in advance of its preparation of a discriminatory blacklist aimed at entities doing business over the 1949 Armistice Lines, pursuant to UN Human Rights Council Resolution 31/36.
NGOs have already begun to exploit the three significant anniversaries related to the Arab-Israeli conflict, which will be marked in 2017. NGO Monitor estimates that these efforts will intensify as the respective anniversaries draw near, and activists will use them to lend artificial urgency and resonance for their agendas.
HRW's letter to the UN High Commissioner for HUman Rights praise the efforts to establish a UN boycott of Israel, and even offer specific recommendations of companies to be included on a UN blacklist.
