At a cabinet meeting earlier today (July 31), Prime Minister Netanyahu commented on the move in France to limit foreign funding to mosques. He noted that, since foreign funding is now on France’s agenda, he has ordered an investigation into European and French funding to organizations that incite against and call for boycott of Israel.

Netanyahu stressed that an initial inquiry shows that French taxpayer money goes to directly support organizations that call for a boycott Israel, do not recognize Israel’s right to exist, and engage in enactment against it.

He also stated Israel will engage in direct discussion with France and other European countries, as “terror is terror everywhere and incitement is incitement which, apparently, encompasses the world, governments must be as united as possible in dealing with them.”

According to NGO Monitor research, France provides millions of euros to French, Palestinian, and Israeli NGOs involved anti-peace activities – including BDS and lawfare campaigns targeting Israel.

French governmental funds are also channeled to BDS through French aid organizations such as CCFD-Terre Solidaire, a member of the pro-BDS Platform of French NGOs for Palestine. CCFD also funds highly politicized and biased NGOs, including Zochrot, Breaking the Silence, and the NGO Development Center (NDC) in Ramallah.
