On July 1, 2009, Sweden will assume the presidency of the European Union. Sweden’s role in funding numerous NGOs that pursue radical political agendas, including rejecting any form of normalization with Israel, fuels the conflict. York University’s Israel/Palestine Conference: NGOs Behind the Academic Facade
York University (Toronto) is scheduled to hold a large conference (over 40 speakers) entitled “Israel/Palestine: Mapping Models of Statehood and Paths to Peace” (June 22-24, 2009). Many of the speakers listed on the program are virulent anti-Israel activists, associated with PCHR, ICAHD, Badil, Electronic Intifada, Miftah, Al Awda, Ta´ayush, Mada el-Carmel, and others. This is another example of the power of political NGOs in the academic framework. more »
