NGOs funded through German development programs (Entwicklungshilfe) with the stated aim to promote “human rights” and “international law” have failed to condemn these blatant violations of human rights and humanitarian principles.
UNRWA is part of the UN-NGO network dedicated to campaigns to demonize and delegitimize Israel, in contrast to humanitarian principles and promoting peace. Post-October 7, this entire system must be reviewed and reconsidered.
On December 29, 2023, South Africa instituted proceedings against the State of Israel before the ICJ, alleging that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. South Africa relied on a number of highly biased NGOs with links to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terror group.
In the aftermath of the barbaric Hamas massacre of October 7, rather than use law and international justice frameworks to support the victims of the atrocities, supposed human rights NGOs have sought to use lawfare to spread anti-Israel propaganda and to target allied support for Israel in an effort to harm the IDF’s ability to defeat Hamas.
There is one network that has constantly denied Hamas' exploitation of Al-Shifa and other hospitals in Gaza -- the influential community of ostensible human rights NGOs, humanitarian aid organizations, and their UN agency partners.
NGOs are repeating the accusations that Israel is guilty of even more outrageous and extreme international crimes: genocide and ethnic cleansing.
Many NGOs that claim to promote human rights, humanitarian principles, and international law have condemned Israel for the evacuation warning. This campaign is not only aimed at diverting attention from the barbaric Hamas slaughter of 1,500 Israelis, but also bolsters and enables Hamas.
On October 7, 2023 (which was the Sabbath and a Jewish holiday), hundreds of Palestinian terrorists poured across the border from Gaza into Israel, slaughtering hundreds of Jews, and torturing, maiming, and kidnapping others. In parallel, thousands of rockets were fired at Israeli population centers, sending millions rushing to shelters.
Israel is the target of an on-going multi-year campaign, led by terror-linked and pro-BDS NGOs, that exploit children in advocating for the IDF’s inclusion on the UN Children and Armed Conflict annex.
On February 2, 2023, three Palestinian NGOs published a submission to the UN Human Rights Council whitewashing acts of violence by Palestinians, omitting core evidence linking Palestinians to the terror and terrorist organizations that maintain the conflict.
