On May 4 and May 5, 2019, Palestinian terror groups in Gaza fired over 600 rockets and mortars toward Israeli population centers, murdering four Israeli civilians. NGOs and NGO officials that claim to promote human rights have ignored the blatant Palestinian violations against Israeli civilians. Some have remained silent altogether, while others have focused exclusively on demonizing Israel for responding to the attacks.
Today, there are dozens of local Palestinian NGOs meant to serve the needs of women from various sectors of society. However, NGO Monitor research and analysis reveals that many of these organizations unfortunately utilize their platform on women’s issues to promote politicized narratives that are often rejectionist and violent, many times to the detriment of gender equality within Palestinian society.
Most NGOs and NGO officials have completely ignored the over 400 rockets and missiles fired at Israel. The few that have commented have exclusively focused on demonizing Israel.
