NGO Monitor research has influenced European governments to re-think the process for distributing funds to NGOs.
European government funding enables the activities of Israeli NGO Breaking the Silence. These governments must respond to revelations that the NGO apparently collected classified information.
Two Israeli NGOs, BTselem and Adalah, have been nominated to receive the annual Human Rights Tulip prize, awarded by the Dutch government. These NGOs have far larger budgets than many of the other nominees, and already receive significant donations from foreign, and specifically Dutch, sources.
