On March 9, 2022, France’s Minister of Interior Gérald Darmanin announced the dissolution of Collectif Palestine Vaincra (CPV), an anti-Zionist group linked to the EU-designated Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terror group.
Anti-Israel NGOs and activists appropriated the war in Ukraine to further their own agendas and to promote demonization, in the form of BDS and other attacks on Israel.
On December 7, 2021, the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP) held an event to discuss the October 2021 decision by the Israeli Ministry of Defense to designate six Palestinian NGOs as terrorist organizations.

On November 10, 2021, Juanna Sanchez Rishmawi, a fundraiser from 1993 for the West Bank-based NGO Health Work Committees (HWC), pled guilty to “carrying out services on behalf of a banned organization,” the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). This case is part of wider allegations regarding the systematic diversion of European government funds that were provided to Palestinian NGOs for human rights and humanitarian work.
In August 2021-January 2022, the United Nations’ "oPt Humanitarian Fund," managed by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA), is providing $194,255 to explicitly aid Palestinian NGOs in exploiting international legal frameworks to demonize Israel.
On October 24, Eliav Lieblich and Adam Shinar published a post on Just Security that critiques Israel’s 2016 Counterterror law and downplays or ignores several facts that are not only necessary to consider in order to evaluate the specific case at issue fully, but also when examining the merits of the Israeli legislation more broadly.
International, Israeli, and Palestinian NGOs reacted with swift condemnations of the decision to declare six NGOs as "terror organizations," using inflammatory rhetoric including “totalitarian” and “apartheid.”.
On October 7, 2021, the “Gaza is Palestine” campaign will host a virtual event featuring Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and a number of BDS activists. These include individuals who have celebrated violence against Israelis. The campaign seeks to halt US military assistance to Israel and is spearheaded by pro-BDS NGOs.
As Israeli government frameworks reveal more information on the connections between European funded Palestinian NGOs and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist group, European government bodies have launched investigations into this funding.
