NGOs capitalize on ideological and political antagonism within the UN to bring their anti-Israel campaigns to the international stage. The devastating impact of NGOs is compounded by the institutional bias of UN bodies, such as the Human Rights Council, the Special Rapporteur on Palestinian issues, and biased “fact-finding” missions.

On January 11, 2019, CUNY School of Law Human Rights and Gender Justice Law Clinic and Defense for Children International-Palestine (DCI-P) filed a joint submission to the UN Commission of Inquiry into the Gaza border violence. On February 28, 2019, the UN Commission of Inquiry (COI) on the riots along the Israel-Gaza border, which began in March 2018, alleged that “Israeli soldiers committed violations of international human rights and humanitarian law… and may constitute war crimes or crimes against humanity.” The COI created a “confidential file” of “which is recommended be given to the International Criminal Court (ICC)” and to be used by governments to “consider imposing individual sanctions, such as a travel ban or an assets freeze.”
Amnesty International will conduct a series of intense campaigns targeting Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, and Trip Advisor. Amnesty will also deny Jewish historic connections to biblical sites, including in Jerusalem – reminiscent of antisemitic UNESCO resolutions.
In March 2016, Michael Lynk, an associate professor of law from Canada, began his term as United Nations Special Rapporteur on the “situation of human rights in the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967.” Based on the criteria to be named a Special Rappoteur and the following evidence, we conclude that Lynk is unqualified to fulfill this mandate for the UN.
‘Who Profits’ initiates international BDS campaigns, targeting Israeli and foreign banks, security companies, civil infrastructure facilities, and private companies. It supports BDS campaigns around the world in finding target companies.
On November 19, 2018, Airbnb issued a press release announcing it was “removing listings” in “Israeli settlements in the Occupied West Bank.” This change in policy was a clear result of a coordinated and well-financed campaign targeting the company by NGOs involved in BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanctions) campaigns against Israel.
