Christian Aid (UK)
Website: http://www.christian-aid.org.uk/
Christian Aid’s activities date back to the 1940s.
The organization operates in more than 50 countries .
CA serves as the official relief, development and advocacy agency of 41 sponsoring churches in Britain and Ireland, and is part of the worldwide church community.
Christian Aid assumes a highly biased and politicized approach to the Arab-Israeli conflict. Its publications systematically ignore Palestinian responsibility in the conflict and minimize Israel’s right to self-defense.
In October 2007, Christian Aid was listed as a "partner supporting " an Ittijah initiated conference held in Cyprus. The conference included some of the most ardent supporters of BDS, such as the Palestinian Grassroots anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign (PGAAWC), Palestine BDS Campaign , and the Palestinian NGO Network (PNGO). The conference’s final statement called upon NGOs to “turn[] utmost attention to the boycott, divestment and sanction campaign against Israel and pursuing the parastata Zionist organizations worldwide.”
Christian Aid’s Partner Organizations include some of the most radical NGOs operating in the region: Sabeel , Alternative Information Center (AIC), Adalah , Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), Israeli Coalition Against House Demolitions (ICAHD), Ittijah , and Physicians for Human Rights - Israel (PHR-I). Christian Aid donated 328,395 NIS to AIC in 2006.
In 2006/07, CA’s annual income was £93.3 million/€103.6 million and in
2007-08 overall , CA earned £86.5 million/€109.3 million, with nearly 75% directly from the public in Britain and Ireland. Christian Aid is also funded by sponsoring churches and governments, such as
Irish Aid and through the
UK Department for International Development (DFID).
