Summary of EU funding for Political Advocacy NGOs
The EU transfers hundreds of millions of euros annually, in non-transparent processes, to political advocacy NGOs, many of which engage in activities contradictory to EU policy goals.
European governments directly and indirectly provide upwards of $125 million annually to political advocacy NGOs active in the Arab-Israeli conflict. In turn, these NGOs inform EU policy, to the detriment of European policy-making. Many of the funding processes are secretive, lacking transparency and accountability.

Irish Aid, Irelands assistance program for developing countries, funds Israeli, Palestinian, Irish, and international NGOs involved in the Arab-Israeli conflict, including many that participate in anti-Israel activities. The same is true for Trcaire, a church-based humanitarian aid framework that also receives government funds.
The EU and Israel completed talks to increase trade and diplomatic cooperation. NGOs released statements condemning the EU for not using negotiations to sanction Israel, including calls for freezing and retracting mutually beneficial EU-Israel Association Agreement.
Since 2010, six documents from the offices of EU representatives in Israel and the PA have been leaked to the media. The documents repeat many of the false, inaccurate or misleading allegations made by a select group of NGOs that receive much of their funding from the EU and member states.
The only geographical or conflict-related working group in EMHRN is the Working Group on Palestine/Israel and Palestinians focusing on Israel and the Palestinian Authority, which allows for disproportionate allegations targeting Israel.
