May 23, 2011

- Website: http://www.gcmhp.net/
- Founded in 1990 to “to enhance the capacity of the community in dealing with mental health problems based on the principles of justice, humanity, and respect for human rights”
- Funding: Gaza Community Mental Health Programme (GCMHP) has received €234,527 (2008), €362,440 (2009) and €250,000 (2010) from the Dutch government for a project entitled “Support Gaza victims of torture and organized violence 2008-2010”
- Connections to IHH and Gaza flotillas: Eyad Sarraj, president of the GCMHP is on the Board of Advisors of the Free Gaza Movement, which is working in conjunction with the IHH terror group to organize a flotilla to Gaza in May/June 2011.
- Response to 2010 Flotilla: “GCMHP implores the international community to summon the courage to bring Israel before the International Court of Justice for their recurrent war crimes and flagrant violations of human rights...this attack…can only be described as an act of piracy and a serious violation of international law and human rights..” (A massacre on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, June 1, 2010)
- Offensive rhetoric: During the June 2009 Goldstone mission hearings in Gaza, Sarraj made antisemitic remarks: “. . . inside Israel there is an identification with the aggressor, the Nazis.” Another GCMHP employee, Dr. Ahmed Abu-Tawahini stated, “Israeli soldier has the image of absolute superiority . . .”
- Sarraj signed a statement saying “Please do not participate in the next Israeli massacre of innocent civilians. BOYCOTT ISRAEL NOW!”
- GCMHP “denounces this brutal action and the attack that targets everything in Gaza. We, call upon the international community to urgently intervene and make all their efforts to protect Palestinian civilians and institutions in Gaza, which are under real danger of death and destruction.” (The Israeli shelling caused massive damage in GCMHP Headquaters in Gaza, December 2008)
- BDS efforts: GCMHP has signed petitions for economic and academic boycotts of Israel
