"FIDH's mandate is to contribute to the respect of all the rights defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. FIDH aims at obtaining effective improvements in the protection of victims, the prevention of Human Rights violations and the sanction of their perpetrators."
Set up in 1922, FIDH is a federation of 116 human rights organizations in nearly 100 countries, coordinating and supporting their activities and providing them with a voice at international level.
FIDH claims to be "linked to no party, no religion, and is independent vis-a-vis all governments." In reality, it follows a strong pro-Palestinian political agenda.
Member organizations include the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) and Al Haq.
